One Sided Love

Have you ever known a love that’s one-sided?
A love you dare not speak aloud?
A quiet love where silence feels safer than risk,
Because you know deep down, he just can’t love you back.

Have you ever pretended you’re okay when you’re breaking inside?
Watching him smile for someone else drives you wild.
It strikes your heart like a bullet’s sharp sting,
Yet you paint on a smile — your perfect, practiced thing.

Day after day, you wake with his name in your mind,
Clinging to hope even though you’ve never tried.
You wait alone, wishing he’d come to you,
Believing someday he’ll see you too.

Every little thing he does quickens your heart,
Even though your story ended long ago, torn apart.
You hold tight to memories, refusing to let go,
While everyone else moves on, you’re stuck in sorrow.

One day, you’ll realize the time you spent loving him,
Despite his silence, you stayed instead of living.
And one day you’ll understand why this pain was sent—
To love so deeply, you reached your limit.

You’ll see that even if it felt hopeless and vain,
What matters is you woke up from that long, lonely dream.
Though it seemed worthless, though it hurt to the core,
That love was real — and those heartaches are yours to adore.
