Explore Qatar 2021

Raise your hand if you’re like me who rarely goes outside and prefer staying in room all day.

Sounds funny but that’s typically me. Not unless I have something to buy, I will never really go out. Let’s just say that I’m kind of a “Thrifty” person so I always have this in my mind that once I go out, I’ll surely spend money.

I rather be on my journal and in my bed whole day than to spend my money going out. So if ever I go out, I always take a lot of picture that will suffice my Instagram feed leapearl_14 for a long run. Funny right?

Like now, I’d been in Qatar for more than four years but I’d been just around in few places. To trail it down, here are some places that I’d been.

  1. Museum of Islamic Qatar
  2. MIA Park
  3. National Museum of Qatar
  4. Pearl Qatar
  5. Souq Waqif
  6. City Center
  7. Doha Festival City
  8. Villagio

Yes it’s unimaginable that I only have few places that I’d been, to think that I’m here for almost a half decade.

That’s why this year I planned to explore more places and feature each in this blog. This may sound impossible due to the pandemic that we’re having right now, but who knows right? Let’s just be positive that everything will be ok and I’ll be able to achieve this goals of mine.

I named this goal as EXPLORE QATAR 2021! For me to accomplish it, I also made a target places ever month and the allotted budget for it, just to make sure that I won’t spend much.

From museums, beaches, malls and iconic restaurants, all of it I included in this plan of mine. Yes I’d been there in some places stated but I would like to explore more in a detailed way.

Actually Qatar is only a small country with estimated 2.7 million population. If you’ll compare it to other countries in middle east, it’s the third smallest country by total surface area. (Information are from wikipedia)

So if you have the whole day to explore this country you’ll surely finish by maximum of two days. But well for me that doesn’t applies since I’m working with only a normal one day off. Nevertheless I’ll surely still look into it and make it work this year.

To show some glimpse of my visit from some places stated above, here’s a series of my photos taken.

When I first tried the Metro, we made sure that we’ll checked every stations and that’s why we avail a round trip ticket that cost six rials (PHP80/USD1.65). For me, the experience was very nice since it was a budget friendly trip and I had a chance to checked a lot of places without spending too much for my transportation.

The first time I entered the Metro Station (near Souq), “WOW!” will be an understatement. To think that everything was built underground, and since 2016 I’d been reading the news about the stations without really seeing it, it made me feel excited to explore every stations of it.

I remember going for I think three floors down just to see the train and everything is underground! I really looked like an innocent child having her first taste of candy. The place is really spacious and the architectural designs are perfect!

This park is really jam packed everyday. From people exercising, family with their picnic bags, group of friends trolling around, this is the perfect place for them.

There’s also some events taking place here like food bazaar, National Sports Day, different food festivals and many more. You can check their events calendar here.

Just beside the Torch Doha Hotel, Villagio Mall has been one of their iconic malls until now. From its unique architectural design that deserves a photo in your instagam feed, it has been the last resort of people working around the area.

A place for high end feels. If you have some fashionable clothes in your wardrobe that you still didn’t use, this place is the cue for you to wear it now.

Since it’s quite far from the city and you need to pay like 15 Qatar Rials (PHP198/USD4) from City Center to Pearl Qatar, why not prepare a nice clothes for it? Promise, It’s totally worth it. Going there you’ll see a lot of restaurants that offers different cuisines from Asian to Arabic, just name it and they have it there!

A place for a perfect pictorial.

This museum is very unique on how they put all the ideas perfectly. If you want to know Middle Eastern culture and how it all started, this place is for you. From interactive activities, wide screen cinematic videos of their history and the historical items that has been part of their culture, you’ll be able to grasp on how everything evolves through time.

This museum is like a transition of their era from the past up to its modern period. You’ll surely love this place as I’m hook up into it until now.

Writing this blog made me realized how happy I was exploring these places. You know those kind of feeling where you reminisce the memories you had in each places, that just so special for me.

Well, I just hope that I’ll be able to explore more places in this coming year so that I can also share to you further details about it. Everything may feel unrealistic due to this challenge that we are facing right now, but I won’t lose hope that this year will be one of the best I’ll ever have.

LET’S CLAIM IT!
