After All This Time

You promised me a better life, but it all turned out to be fake.
You said you loved me—but only for your own sake.
You let me suffer while you lived your life so free,
And now I’m left alone to find what’s left of me.

After all the words, you claimed it wasn’t love,
That everything we shared was just made up.
You said it was one-sided—a story I told myself,
With no need for answers as you walked off with someone else.

Now it all settles as a memory of the past.
We moved on, chasing loves that were never meant to last.
Unanswered questions hang, but I won’t look back in vain,
Because it’s over now—I won’t return to that pain.

From that experience, I learned to love myself more.
To invest in who I am—that’s what’s truly worth fighting for.
The tears and heartbreak I once endured alone,
Were God’s way of helping me find strength of my own.

Now I’m chasing dreams and building memories anew,
There’s peace around me, and a clear sky in view.
Each day is a gift, a fresh chance to grow,
Each challenge a game, with a strength I now know.

Despite all that happened, I hold no regret,
That chapter taught me lessons I won’t forget.
It showed me what to pursue, and what to release,
The life I deserve and the grace of inner peace.

It wasn’t a happy or tragic end for us two,
But thank you—for the feelings that once felt true.
Whether as lovers or friends, you were part of my days,
And I’ll remember it all in my own quiet way.

As we walk separate paths from here on out,
I’ve found someone who removed every doubt.
The one who fills the missing space in my heart,
And after all this time, I’ve made a brand new start.
