Busy?

If you’re currently working right now, for sure “I’m busy” Is your most common word. Stress is all over you and probably you find it hard to look for your own self, simply because you don’t have spare time.

Have you ever talked to someone without putting any work-related topics of yours? If your answer is No, I’m pretty sure you’re already a “Busy Mindset” person by now.

Actually, it’s not really bad to have it, but what makes it off, is if you neglect your own self just for the sake of finishing work-related task. Once you build your excuse of being busy for not eating on time, sleeping late and many more other important activities that your body needs, you should start to change your ways ang get rid of that kind of mindset.

Mostly people in their 30’s have this kind of mindset. This is due to their growing responsibilities on their hand and they were left with no choice but to be a busy person. We’ll surely experienced this any time in our lives, but we need to help ourselves so we can somehow avoid compromising our health.

The more we get older, the more we need to take care of our wellbeing. We need to ensure that we won’t overused ourselves and be mindful of our physical, mental, spiritual and emotional health. The change will all be yours. You’re the one who can only help your own self thus, you need to be discipline enough to do what is right and avoid things that can affect you negatively.

Now, here are some simple tips to help you to get away from your “Busy Mindset”. Like what I mentioned, still discipline is the best solution for this. Nevertheless, you can still slowly try to do these simple steps CONSISTENTLY.

Start your day with a smile and a daily affirmation.

Before you start your day, it is very important that you need to shift your mindset into positive one. If you let the negative thoughts enter first in your mind, most probably you’ll think negatively the whole day.

Why don’t you try to start your day with a smile?

You need to feel the excitement about new experiences, learnings, memories that the day will give you. If you usually feel exhausted first thing in the morning, automatically your body will follow what your brain is thinking. It will manifest to your whole body and you’ll find yourself already tired without even starting the day.

Trick your mind by thinking of positive thoughts. Get rid of every thought that will make you demotivated. You can simply do your own daily affirmations that you can tell to yourself first in the morning, so you can divert right away your mind into positive one.

Here are some sample daily affirmations that you can do. You can also make your own any statements that will make you feel more motivated.

Stop saying you’re busy/stress.

If you badly wanted to stay away from it, one thing that you also need to get rid of is what you always say about being busy or stress. If you keep saying the same thing, it will not only affect you but the other people around you as well. It’s like a toxic gas that once you’ll let it out, everyone will also feel the same.

Like for some instances, if you’re dealing with a colleague who loss someone, you’ll automatically feel his/her sadness. So, either way around, whatever you open up manifest also to the rest. If it simply affects your whole body, it’s the same for whoever you’re talking to.

Work will always be hard, and there’s no way that you’ll enjoy it forever. So as long as you act before it consumes you, you’ll not only help yourself but the other’s as well.

Work will never be finish, so stop pushing yourself to do everything in just one day.

If you’re the type of person who usually wanted to finish whatever task he/she can squeeze in a short period of time, this is the right time for you to change this kind of mindset. Why? The truth is, work will never finish. Just because you wanted to finish a lot of things as much as you can, it’s not worth compromising if your own well being is at risk.

Make a timeline of the task that you currently have and manage what you can do for a day. This is not all about being lazy, it’s about managing well your work and life productively. If you only wanted to focus on one side, the other one will be negatively affected so make sure that you need give time for both of it.

Learn to ask for help.

Oftentimes people push their own selves as much as they can before they ask for help. They believe that they can do it alone and asking help for someone makes them feel bad. This results to overwork and stress for people who usually do it.  Although it will be hard to do something for it, since it’s usually innate to them, the only way for them to make it work is by their own selves.

We can make them realize the benefits of asking help in times that they need it. Asking for one’s help doesn’t really mean that you’re not capable of doing the job alone, it’s about knowing what you can give and let your team be involved in the work. You can also have a chance to get opinions and good suggestions from them that can help you to achieve better results.

Avoid complaining about work.

For sure, you’d met some people in your life wherein they keep complaining about work related stuffs, but can’t really get away from it. It’s like a broken record of complaints and worries about what happened in their work place that even they reached home, they still keep talking about it.

If you keep talking about it and after a while complain about the same thing that makes you feel stress, then you’re at fault by that time. There’s no problem discussing about work, but if it only stresses you out, you need to help yourself to avoid it. Like what others usually say,

“Get away from things that makes you feel bad.”

Avoid talking about job related stuff once you’re out of work.

Whatever thoughts about your work, leave it in your office and don’t bring it at home. Work hours are there for us to follow. If it requires additional couple of hours more, you’re free to do it, but once it’s done, it means DONE. Don’t let your whole day be filled by work related stuffs because it will only drain you. Drains you to the point that you won’t have time for yourself because you choose to prioritized things that makes you feel more stress.

You need to be discipline enough to draw a line between work and your wellbeing. As you grow older, the more you need to be cautious on your health since it naturally deteriorates as time goes by. Stop being selfish on yourself. This time, make it a point that you’ll include yourself as one of your priority.

Make time for yourself.

No matter how busy you are, always make sure that you have time for yourself. Never neglect if just for the sake of finishing your task. An hour of your day for yourself won’t affect your work that much, so give something that your body deserve.

If you want to start it, you can first try to do these basic necessities of your body for you to make slowly accommodate more selfcare activities:

  1. Eat on time.
  2. Sleep for 7-8 hours.
  3. Drink a lot of water.
  4. Avoid smoking.
  5. Do a daily workout.

Never let your excuses stops you from doing things that your body needs. As you grow older, the more you are at risk, so do something today that will help you to become healthy inside and out. You’re the only one who can help yourself so the sooner you realized to prioritized yourself, the sooner you’ll get rid of your stress.

Once you’re off from work, get away from the things that will influence you to do more task.

The first thing you need to do to make sure that you’ll leave all your stress from your work is to make an ideal environment for yourself. If you really wanted to help yourself not to engage in more work-related task, you need to make an environment which you can feel more relax.

  1. Take out any pending works you have on your desk
  2. Close your laptop.
  3. Turn off your duty mobile.
  4. Put on your favorite playlist.
  5. Plan your ideal self-care routine.
  6. Watch a movie.
  7. Sleep early.

The more you can see things that will influence you to work, the more you’ll engage yourself in working even in your own home. Design your room as an escape place for you to unwind and relax. You can also put positive poster in your room walls so that you’ll feel more motivated whenever you read it.
